Fireproof

Last night we went to the movie theater with our friends the Chidlows to see the new movie "Fireproof" from the makers of Facing the Giants.
It was very good, and though people say "folks won't enjoy movies if there isn't bad language" etc. I think everyone in the theater was on the edge of their seats.
The storyline centers on firefighter Caleb Holt. The subtitle of the movie is "Never leave your partner behind," a concept that is used in firefighting. Basically, Caleb's marriage is crumbling, they are about to get a divorce, and his dad challenges him to hold off for 40 days, and do "The Love Dare." I won't spoil it for you - you'll have to watch it for yourself. :-) There is a lot of humor in it too which always makes a movie more enjoyable.
The movie is rated PG and I would say it might not be the best for young kids, just because of some of the fire scenes and in the beginning where Caleb and Catherine (his wife) decide to get the divorce...

Here's the trailer and more info on the movie for those of you who are interested:

Yes, the movie is awesome. Go see it today. Then go see it tomorrow. We've got to support the Christian film industry if we want more!! ( :

!!! we so enjoyed this movie! Having not seen any trailors for it but having really enjoyed both of the previous films done by this church, both Facing the Giants and FlyWheel, We actually took all three of our children to see this movie! Yes opening night, in a very unprecidented move, we took them along with much of our extended family in Christ we went to sold out theater only to call and call till we found one and finally got there to see this film. I would agree some of the scenes were a bit scary. Our only saving grace was Buddy LOVES firemen, but we still prayed a few times about "fear" things in the day or so that followed. And the scenes where Caleb and his wife argue are very realistic and hard to watch, but my children lovingly reminded me, "people sin mom, and that is WHY they need Jesus so bad, and that is WHY they NEED to see movies like this one" it was a great film, and I pray the Lord opens more hearts to see it, and more hearts to make more independent films like it! great post!
