Flower Frenzy

My favorite time of year is coming around... it's the season for flowering trees! So far only the cherries and the "purple tree" (an as-yet unknown species) has bloomed but I can see the crabapples are not far behind - which likely means I shall tax your patience with more of my floral pictures. :-) Hey... it's OUR blog, we can post whatever we want on it!
Since several people have complained we aren't posting enough, here are a few photos to tide you over till the next post.

Can someone identify this tree off the top of their head? It produces beautiful bud-like flowers in the spring... I love how the color comes through in photos
(though this one looks more pink than purple!)
Note: After posting this, I was corrected that this is actually one of Tara's photos... oops!

No, this is not a flowering tree. This is our self-designated pet squirrel who peskily comes and eats the food meant for the birds on the windowsill. Though, when a picture of him comes out this cute, I'm almost tempted not to mind. :-)

The flowering trees are magnificent, aren't they! I think the one in question is a redbud. If so, it will have heart-shaped leaves that come out as the flowers fade.

What beauty for you to enjoy in the springtime!

Thanks, everyone! I'm having a lot of fun since I know how to use my camera better this year.

Allison - stationery? You mean, put the picture in the corner, or...?
