Messiah 2007

Yes, this is a little late, but I thought you all might still enjoy a post about one of our favorite events of the year: The Do-It-Yourself Messiah!

Every year we take the train downtown with most of our Church family to the Civic Opera House. Of course, the train ride is half the fun as we share stories, laugh, sing and just enjoy each other's company.

I just thought this picture was so sweet of Rebecca Gould and her Grandmother.

After the train ride, we take a short walk over to the opera house and fly down the isles to try and get a good seat. After securing a "group section" we head up the long flight of stairs to the top balcony to see the beautiful view.

(This photo was stolen from the Von Holten's blog).

After the performance, which was WONDERFUL, we walked over to Giordano's for some Chicago Pizza. YUM!

During dinner, I was able to snap a few pictures of our group, so here are a couple for your viewing enjoyment...

Mr. and Hannah Hirst

Dawn and Beth

Jessica and Emma

The Multi-Talented Jessica!

Mrs. Hill, Abbey and Joshua

After a stroll around Chicago some of the "younger ones" legs got a little tired.

And then, the train ride home which can either be crazy or sleepy. This year we had a little of both, with Mrs. Erber sampling essential oils (She really made the car smell good!) and others...

...who decided to sleep!

It was a great day!
