Success!

Well, after a little researching and with some borrowed tools (thanks Beattys!!), we can now say we are no longer of the "never canned" crowd!

We juiced all our grapes with a steamer, and then made jelly (first time ever) and canned it! I found it fun, Mom found it a bit stressful. :-) It was a bit time consuming but worth the experience as I have long wanted to learn how to can.

I like the way it looks when the sun shines through!

We brought some to Oma & Opa's and had it with lunch... and you'll never guess what it tastes like! .... grape jelly! :-) I guess it was a success!

Great job ladies!! It looks wonderful, I'm so glad that you were able to make some jelly and that it turned out so well! :) Now that you have your feet in the water, you will be all ready to dive right in next fall! :D

I'm really glad we tried it too Dawn. Otherwise all those grapes would have gone to waste! I'm looking forward to trying some other things (maybe applesauce and salsa?) and I would like to get our own tools so we could do it whenever.

Hannah - it is quite yummy! How about you come up and taste some???
Oh, we're having loads of fun with the basement - coughing up dust and living with our rooms stuffed with all the basement stuff... LOL!
