Thanksgiving Day! O what a treat...

to eat and eat and eat and eat!

Thanksgiving day was a comfortable time for our family just to relax and recover from the sickness which we have had for the last two weeks. We spent the day reading, chatting and fire building. Mom prepared a delicious meal which consisted of turkey (of course!), strawberry spinach salad and sweet rolls, and I got the table rigged up a little fancier than usual.

Well, that was our quiet Thanksgiving, but on Friday we headed down to Opa and Oma's house to celebrate with Mom's side of the family. We were very happy to see Uncle Glenn, Aunt Ineke, Michelle, Kerry, Oom Gerard, Tante Margriet, Anouk, Fleur, Justin and, of course, Opa and Oma. We were disappointed in not seeing Ben there, but look forward to seeing him soon.
We didn't get any pictures of the feast, and it was a feast, but we have some very fond memories! When we all meet up at Opa and Oma's house, we usually eat non stop; however, this year, Fleur and I had a new enjoyment:



Yes, that is right! Hair styles! Now, for those who do not know our extended family, here is history about us. When Michelle, Kerry, Kathryn and I were younger (Anouk, Fleur and Justin were in the Netherlands), we would always do up Opa's hair, with pink and purple bows, clips, etc. Now we are older and we don't do that stuff any more. On Friday, Opa was complaining about how he doesn't have any "little" girls any more to do his hair for him (we hinted to Michelle about that one, since she is getting married), so Fleur and I set to work and became his "little girls". Oma had gotten rid of all the pink and purple bows, so we had to make do with rubber bands, barrettes, head bands and bobby pins.
